H.O.G.® Gold Rand: Meet the Chapters

  • Chapter Social Event

As the Annual Meet The Chapters usually held in January at Graceland Casino in Secunda is long gone and forgotten, Kobus Van Niekerk Road Captain at H.O.G.® Gold Rand decided blood is thicker than water and the H.O.G.® family should not wait a full year to see each other.

An invitation was extended to all surrounding Chapters to get brothers and sisters re-united, aiming to have representatives of each Chapter for a get together at the Alberton Rugby Club on 24 July 2016.

Participating Chapters Gold Rand, Zambezi and Johannesburg with a count of eighty four Harley-Davidson® Motorcycles rode via Suikerbosrand Heidelberg which is well known for its beautiful scenery, as well as the Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve, one of Gauteng's premier ecotourism destinations and Gauteng's highest point.

Marshals selected from the three H.O.G.® Chapters worked together as a team ensuring the safety of the pack, it was amazing to see how three different marshaling styles amalgamated smooth and efficiently.

Entertainment will always form a huge part to the success of any event and a live band was organized for the day.  The smell of a spit consisting of beef, chicken and pork filled the air together with side dishes of vegetables and salads, certainly  worth the price paid.  People truly enjoyed the get together, a lot of people extended their compliments and many mentioned that they can’t wait for another well organized day next year.

Special thanks to H.O.G.® Gold Rand, Johannesburg and Zambezi Chapters members, Ladies Of Harley® and marshals for their hard work and assistance.  Due to great teamwork the first Gold Rand - Meet The Chapters event hosted was a huge success.
